Brevets - Populaires - 1200k's

· RMCC Membership - Membership in the Rocky Mountain Cycling Club is required, for insurance reasons, to ride brevets and populaires, unless otherwise noted. You may join at the ride start if you bring a check and application.
· Sign-In/Inspection/Departure - Riders depart together at the prescribed departure time. Be ready to sign in and have your bicycle inspected at least one-half hour before departure and especially for the shorter (better attended) brevets, plan to arrive an hour before departure. All routes finish where they start, unless otherwise indicated.

· Pre-Registration - Pre-registration allows us to staff and supply the ride appropriately. If the ride must be cancelled or rescheduled, registered riders can be informed. Pre-registrants may also receive materials such as route maps in advance. A few brevets require confirmed pre-registration.
· Qualifying - If a brevet requires pre-qualification, the event director will contact you after you register.
· Medals - If you wish to order an ACP medal after successfully completing an ACP brevet, bring a check to pay for the medal at the ride finish.
· Rules - Please read the brevet rules carefully before coming to the ride. You may also check out the waiver which riders sign on day-of-event sign in. Bonne route!

200km Apr 23 Sun.	Sign-in: 7am PDT Depart: 8am PDT Show Low AZ, Days Inn, 480 W. Deuce of Clubs	Show Low AZ - Globe - A scenic route from the Mogollon Rim at 6,300 across the Salt River Canyon to Globe. In connection with the RMCC Spring Contrail. A companion to an Arizona 200km brevet the previous day. A point-to-point route. Membership encouraged but not required. Map and Route.
200km May 6 Sat.	Sign-in: 7:00 am Depart: 8:00 am I-25 Exit 243 (Co. Hwy. 66) NE Corner Conoco	Horsetooth and Beyond - Horsetooth - Poudre Canyon - then the 9% to 15% grades up to scenic, backcountry Stove Prairie at 7,440 ft. Wintry weather alternate: Horsetooth - Rawhide course, climbs plus antelope. Map, Route, and Tips.

300km May 20 Sat.	Sign-in: 4:00 am Depart: 5:00 am Mineral & Santa Fe P+R	Littleton - Black Forest - Elbert and back - A roller-fest, straddling the spine of the Palmer Divide! *Lights required.* Map, Route, and Tips.
400km June 10 Sat.	Sign-in: 3:00 am Depart: 4:00 am US-36 Louisville-Superior Exit	Superior - Platteville - Lefthand Canyon - St. Vrain Canyon - Horsetooth - Wellington - Climbs Lefthand Canyon (4500 ft. of climbing to 9250 ft.), descends St. Vrain Canyon, then climbs Carter Lake and south Horsetooth Reservoir. 14,000 ft. climbing. *Lights required. 1000km June 10 Sat.	Sign-in: 3:30 am Depart: 4:00 am US-36 Louisville-Superior Exit	Superior - Platteville - Lefthand Canyon - St. Vrain Canyon - Horsetooth - Wellington - Fort Morgan - Big Thompson Canyon - The first 400km follow the route of the 400km Brevet, followed by an excursion down the South Platte to Ft. 600km June 24 Sat.	Sign-in: 3:00 am Depart: 4:00 am US-36 Louisville-Superior Exit	Superior - Brighton - St. Vrain Canyon - Estes Park - Big Thompson Canyon - Horsetooth - Wellington - Kersey - Climbs St. Vrain Canyon (4300 ft. of climbing to 9200 ft.), descending past Estes Park through Big Thompson Canyon, over south Horsetooth Reservoir and out onto the Plains through Wellington and Windsor. 18,000 ft. of climbing. *Lights required. 1000km June 24 Sat.	Sign-in: 3:30 am Depart: 4:00 am US-36 Louisville-Superior Exit	Superior - Brighton - St. Vrain Canyon - Estes Park - Big Thompson Canyon - Horsetooth - Wellington - Fort Morgan - Big Thompson Canyon - The first 500km follow the first 500km of the 600km Brevet, followed by an excursion down the South Platte to Ft. Sign-in: 4:00 am Depart: 5:00 am US-36 Louisville-Superior Exit	"Peak-to-Peak" - Coal Creek Canyon - Estes Park - Big Thompson Canyon - Climbs Coal Creek Canyon for an extended jaunt on the Peak-to-Peak Highway, descending from Estes Park over Devil's Gulch through Glen Haven, with 10,600 ft. of climbing. *Lights required. 1200km Sept 13 Wed.	Sign-in: 2:00 am Depart: 3:00 am US-36 Louisville-Superior Exit	*Colorado Last Chance 1200km Randonnée - "Venture to Kansas"* - Boulder to Kansas and return, mainly on US-36. How to Register - To register for a brevet, e-mail or otherwise contact the Colorado Brevet Administrator, or print and mail in an application. RMCC Membership - If you are not an RMCC member, you may send in your membership with the application.

Louisville-Superior Brevet Starts - These brevets* will start/finish at the Comfort Inn (map) - 303-604-0181 - As our Louisville brevet host motel, they are offering a special rate for brevet riders. We will not be using the Louisville-Superior park-and-ride ... * except for the Peak-to-Peak 300km Brevet on August 19 - it will start at the park-and-ride, south side of US-36.

	· What is a Populaire? - A Populaire is a brevet-format ride shorter than 200km, run under the same rules and using the same kind of control cards as brevets. Our populaires are in conjunction with RMCC club rides.
	· Learn about Brevets - Populaires let you learn how brevets work and get inside tips from brevet veterans.
	· Prepare for the spring Brevets - Spring populaires help you build conditioning and pacing for the brevets that start the next month (in May).
	· Learn about RUSA and Longer Randonnées - Populaires are a good chance to learn about Randonneurs USA and think about longer randonnées such as the Colorado Last Chance or Boston-Montreal-Boston.
	· Results and Recognition - Populaire results, like brevet results, are posted not only here but with RUSA, and count towards RUSA distance-level award medals.
